Stapko is a semi modular set of didactic - sensory products, made of wood sticks interlaces with textile, and stiffenedby various wood profiles. Stapko's main purpose is to stimulate creativity and ensure well-being of preschool and school-age children.
When designing for kindergartens, the focus was placed on making the products that are engaging for the children, in order to create an environment that promotes creativity and cognitive, as well as physical, development. Furthermore, we recognised a repeating problem for most kindergartens, which was the lack of space. This is why we decided to develop solutions that have multiple purposes and ways of use. Another demand was to create the products out of sustainable materials, and that is why we decided on wood and textile.
One of the biggest challenges in designing for kindergardens i s the lack of space and furniture that does not meet the needs of children. The solution was to make multifunctional elements that can be disassembled and reassembled as needed, giving extra space. Therefore, Štapko is a semi modular product intended t o stimulate cognitive and motor development.
Štapko is developed for kindergardens and preschoolers, and because of this, the sets within it come in three sizes, which are foreseen to be in three different rooms that the children move through while growing and becoming older.
